The Maui And Tuna Legend
Long long ago in the past Maui the smallest brother and his brothers all ways went fishing.They also used to catch tuna but his brothers were holding empty banana leafs in their bare clean hands.Their stomachs were growling like a tiger but something was wrong in the
Village.
Meanwhile Maui’s big brothers were starving down in there wharenui with their mother.Maui the smallest brother was terrified that his brothers might die of someone or something kept stealing all the ika in the whole lake.So Maui the mighty warrior was struggling to find out who stole all the ika from the lake.At Last Maui was close to finding out the ika robber.
Maui the mighty warrior was starving so Maui needed to an enormous amount of plans quickly!’’yepi’’ shouted Maui’s brothers, he has got a lot of plans.Maui told his brothers his plans , ‘maybe’ said Maui.Lets go make some traps for the tuna.
Maui’s traps did not work and his brothers were ashamed,but Maui never gave up.So Maui swam in the deep sea where the tuna lived.He saw the eel munching and crunching on a ika like he was eating a lollipop and Maui snuck behind the monster, (eating the ika) boom!crash bang!!! The eel was lying on the sea ground dead Maui got his strength and lifted the massive tuna and got him up to the marae and ate for three months.That tuna was surely big enough to fill Maui’s and Maui’s tribes tummy. Maui once again saved the village from getting into trouble and saved everyone from starvation.This is why he became a famous Maori legend.
